The museum once had a giant Cú Chulainn statue clinging to its façade since 1983, turning the building into a bold Dublin landmark before it was moved in 2009.

Early highlights included a 3D wax recreation of The Last Supper and even the real Popemobile used during Pope John Paul II’s 1979 visit to Ireland.

Set inside the historic Armoury Building, once used for storing gold and weapons, the museum now transforms those vault-like spaces into scenes of Irish mythology and storytelling.

There is a ton of information at the museum and because it's self guided you can choose to either read every single piece of info, or make a bee line for the free pint up top! As a beer lover, I could spend all day here, but also was fun for my family, who isn't as obsesssed as me.

My grandson enjoyed the floor with the light illusions the most it's his birthday on the 24 July and it was one of his birthday wishes because he is only 11 some of the displays were to high for him to see/use I couldn't lift him up to see it but overall he enjoyed the experience

Highly recommend the Jameson whiskey tasting in Ireland! The history is fascinating, but our guide completely stole the show. She’s an amazing storyteller, has a fantastic sense of humor, and even surprised us with her excellent Portuguese pronunciation. A perfect experience from start to finish!

I went on the river tour would have liked a 10 minute stop at the famine statues! Came all the way from the states just to see the memorial. There was no time to get on and off. The rest of the tour is amazing!

A fun, knowledgeable chap gave us the history of the Jameson company and how it evolved. A flight of 3 of Jameson's whiskeys allowed everyone to compare the taste and mouthfeel of 3 of its flagship products. A fun hour or two, which also included a grog!
