The visit to the Dungeon was enjoyable as it gave an entertaining glimpse into Hamburg's history. The staff did a nice job trying to entertain the visitors. Some of the "scary" gimmicks were amusing but overall it's something I wouldn't redo as it isn't a standout attraction. Perhaps, it is just overshadowed by the Wunderland in the same building.

The visit to the Hamburg Dungeon was both interesting and exciting. We got to learn a bit about Hamburg’s history. Being so close to the actors and having the audience involved was really something special. Some of the stories were a little spooky, but we still had a lot of fun.

The acting was indeed amazing and the scenery made it look real. We immersed in the history of Hamburg from the great fire to the Napoleon era, the plague and the pirates! It was totally worth it and I surely recommend it!

We are from Denmark and had taken the German tour. There was a lot of fast talking, so we recommend choosing the English one, if youre not german. However, the pace matched the atmosphere and content, so it was exciting the whole time. Skilled actors, suitably creepy and funny. The way they involved the audience was fun. It’s worth experiencing if you’re in Hamburg. It only takes an hour, which is just right for the experience.

Dark history, live shows & thrilling rides

Move through atmospheric sets as stories of plague, piracy, executions, and other dark episodes unfold around you. Descend into the Dungeon aboard the Elevator of Doom, encounter Hamburg during the Plague, and see if you can save pirate Klaus Störtebeker from execution.
