Banana Kart was one of the most fun experiences I had in Japan! Since my friend was driving a kart, I chose the two-seater option so I could ride along and enjoy the experience together. It turned out to be a fantastic way to see Tokyo from a completely different perspective. The staff were friendly, professional, and explained everything clearly before we started. Easily one of the best experiences in Tokyo! At first I was a little skeptical because it way cheaper than most, but only because its a new company. I did the night tour through Shinjuku and Shibuya, the lights were incredible, but Im sure daytime is equally fun. That being said the carts were all new! We only had 3 people on our tour, which made it easier to keep up, even with a little sprinkle of rain it was absolutely amazing! So much fun cant say enough good things about it! And our tour guide Gy was definitely the star of the show! He made it super easy to follow around, kept us safe and took so many fun photos! And even printed one for us at the end! Hands down one of the most fun things to do it Tokyo! Couple quick pointers: Wear shoes or theyll loan you crocs! Probably not as much fun if it were really raining! Better to avoid weekends because theres probably more traffic Obviously need an international drivers license

Amazing Tokyo Experience with Gy at Banana Kart! Our Uber took us directly to the building, and upon arrival, we were greeted by friendly staff. We booked the activity through Viator, and Banana Kart absolutely lived up to the description. Gy provided clear instructions on road safety and how to operate the go-karts. He was patient, funny, and made the entire experience enjoyable from start to finish. I was a little nervous during the first five minutes, but with Gy as our guide, I quickly felt more confident and relaxed. He also took plenty of photos and videos throughout the tour and shared them with us afterward, which made the experience even more memorable. What a lovely day we had! It is a new company with limited social media presence, so we wanted to visit first to check things out. The woman who works there (I'm not sure if she's the owner), but what an amazing woman! She only speaks Japanese, but she helped us a lot with booking our trip! The price is also super good! It is a fun tour through Tokyo. The costumes are incredibly nice and clean, because they are washed immediately! Our tour guide was also super fun and nice, took beautiful photos, and showed a lot of knowledge and experience! I will definitely come back here when I am in Tokyo again, and hopefully they will be even bigger then with longer tours! Thank you so much!

Arrive at the Banana Kart shop for check-in and a safety briefing before setting off. Present your original physical driving permit and any required documents for Japan. Digital copies, screenshots, or photos of these documents are not accepted. Once everything is verified, meet your professional guide and get ready for your Tokyo go-kart adventure.

What to expect

Your tour begins in Shinjuku, where you’ll drive through one of Tokyo’s busiest and most recognisable districts. With your guide leading the way, the streets become your route as you experience the city from a unique perspective.

Continue towards Harajuku, known for its distinctive fashion, lively streets, and youthful atmosphere. The guided route then takes you to Shibuya Crossing, offering a memorable drive through one of Tokyo’s most famous city landmarks.

From Shibuya, head towards Omotesando, where broad avenues and stylish architecture create a different side of Tokyo’s urban landscape. The route continues through Yoyogi Park, adding a greener stretch to the city drive.

Throughout the tour, your street-legal go-kart, safety gear, costumes, and professional guide are provided. Photos are also taken during the ride, giving you memories of your time driving through Tokyo.

What to bring

Bring your original home country driving license, a valid International Driving Permit (IDP) issued under the 1949 Geneva Convention, and your passport, as these are mandatory for participation.

If your driving license is from Germany, France, Switzerland, Belgium, or Monaco, you must also bring a JAF (Japan Automobile Federation) translation of your license.

Only original physical documents are accepted; digital or photocopied licenses are not valid.

Wear closed-toe shoes, as they are mandatory for driving the go-kart.

Comfortable clothing is recommended for your ride.

Passengers are not allowed; each go-kart is for one driver only.
