    What our guests say

The Asakusa food tour was honestly the highlight of our Tokyo trip. We met a mix of locals and other travelers and tasted twelve different Japanese dishes, many I’d never even seen on menus before. Our guide was patient answering questions about each item and pointed out little facts about the area’s history I wouldn’t have noticed. The sake bar was a cozy stop, and the drinks included were just right. There were a couple of dishes I wasn’t too sure about, but being able to sample and share made it less intimidating. By the end, we’d made some new friends and got tips for where to go next in Asakusa. I just wish the tour could have lasted an extra half hour so we didn’t have to rush dessert!

My partner and I joined this Asakusa food tour on a whim, hoping to experience Japanese cuisine beyond what’s in guidebooks. The guide kept the vibe light and welcoming, and it was easy to make conversation with others in the group as we wandered between eateries. Each stop introduced a totally different dish; some were mysterious but the guide was patient explaining what everything was. My favorite was the takoyaki and the final fish-shaped waffle for dessert. I would have liked a bit more time learning about the side streets and historic sights, but I left feeling satisfied and with new friends to boot.

Had a really good night joining 10 others on a food adventure all over Asakusa. Jun and Ricky were both super easy to talk to, knew a ton, and made the whole outing feel relaxed and fun. We hit up three spots that seemed to be total favorites with locals, not the usual tourist spots. If you want to eat well and hang with fun people, this is the way to do it. Big shoutout to Jun and Ricky for making it such a cool experience!

My group of friends wanted something different, and this Asakusa food tour was spot on. We tried so many new things (the egg dish and grilled skewers were standouts) and finished with the cutest fish-shaped dessert. Our guide offered lots of tips for other cool places nearby. We had to wait a couple minutes at one busy spot, but it was worth it for the fresh food. Fun way to see a local side of Tokyo!

Rie made the whole experience super enjoyable—she really knows her stuff when it comes to food in Asusaka. She even threw in a few Osaka tips for us, which was a nice bonus. The food we sampled was tasty and it was a blast chatting with her and the other folks there. Would totally give it a perfect score!
