The site can be a bit intimidating to reach by public transportation—it’s a massive building where it’s not easy to find the entrance. But what a discovery lies within! It’s absolutely worth experiencing this majestic blend of stone, water, color, and light. It’s dark inside (naturally), but it’s spacious, and you have plenty of time to appreciate it at your own pace and in your own way.

The Matisse presentation is very well done. The commentary adds depth to the presentation of the works and sheds light on the artist’s creative process. The Frida Kahlo presentation is also really great, but it could have benefited from commentary, just like the Matisse one.

The voice-over in the Matisse video prevents me from taking that usual journey—where the music carries me into the imagery—which I usually enjoy so much. If this was an experiment, it didn’t work for me. Too bad... but I really liked the video on Frida Kahlo.
