Across 10 stops, you move from lively neighborhood streets and squares to the fortified edge of the Caribbean, including Plaza de la Trinidad and the Baluarte de Santo Domingo.

At Plaza de la Trinidad, you pause in one of Cartagena's most recognisable squares, then continue through the streets of Getsemaní toward the city walls, following clear walking directions between each stop. The walk runs between Getsemaní and the sea wall, which are about 1.3 km apart, so you can plan how you will return if you are staying on the Getsemaní side.

Near the end of the route, you reach the Baluarte de Santo Domingo on the bastion, where the top of the wall has uneven stone and few railings and faces west for late afternoon light and sunset. There is very little shade here, so carrying water and watching your footing, especially with children after dark, is important.
