We purchased tickets in advance through Get Your Guide as linked through their website. When we arrived we found out there was only going to be 4 of us there that day and 2 of us were invited to try the sumo training and "fight" the wrestlers (who are retired sumo). They were all fantastic showmen and gave us an incredible and educational experience where we could not stop laughing. The next day I am sore and used muscles I had forgotten existed from getting in the ring with these guys. Highly recommend for the extensive interaction with the wrestlers that was above and beyond the "dinner theater" experience most places seemed to offer.

Even after Disneyland this was the highlight of my trip so far. The host/emcee was very hospitable, informative and funny. A bit of a history lesson to start then a segue into the exercises demonstrated by two retired sumo wrestlers (stll big and strong). A few funny "matches" then a real match. These are like crashing cars and only a few feet from us! We got our turn and that was insanely fun. We, my son and daughter in law, all put on the traditional mawashi (over provided clothing) and went at it. My heartrate was through the roof with excitement and effort. Do not miss this!

Incredible experience. A must-do! Seeing two sumo wrestle this close and personal is a sight to be seen. Amazing athletes. The wrestlers were charismatic, skilled and informative. The in-ring experience is unbelievable. You do the training exercises with the wrestlers, and even get to have a sumo match! Very accommodating, family friendly! A family of 6, and we all had an amazing time. Highly recommend.

I came to the sumo show with my brother. The team was very knowledgeable and even more friendly. Learning about the history of sumo and its connection to the modern sport was incredible. The highlight was getting into the ring ourselves to practice some of the techniques we had seen firsthand. I recommend every come to learn and experience sumo for themselves

If you join the Sunamachi Ginza Sumo Stable Tour, be sure to step into the ring and challenge a real sumo wrestler! It was my very first time trying sumo, and it was an unforgettable experience. The power and intensity are absolutely incredible! No matter how hard you charge, the wrestler won't even budge. Go aheadgive it everything you've got!
