Set against green hills and the Xili Lake landscape, Shenzhen Safari Park offers a full-day wildlife experience away from central Shenzhen. The park was China's first open-range zoo, with animals grouped according to their living habits and viewed from designated areas including glass corridors.

Shenzhen Safari Park was China's first open-range zoo, introducing an approach where animals are displayed in environments with fewer traditional cage-style barriers.

The park officially opened on September 28, 1993, and was developed as a subtropical ecological landscape combining zoological, botanical, and educational functions.

The park covers about 640,000 square metres and is located beside scenic Xili Lake in Shenzhen's Nanshan District.

More than 300 kinds of wild animals are represented at Shenzhen Safari Park, including several rare species such as giant pandas and South China tigers.
