The yacht experience was brilliant, very well set out, great audio commentary, halfway through there's an opportunity to have afternoon tea, no booking required, we were able to just walk in., very reasonably priced too. Was a bit confused about how to get there with the combined sightseeing bus as was told that the only bus that takes you to the yacht was a different company (blue bus) and ours was the red sightseeing bus, however they took us and wasn't until we got back on the bus to get back to the city we were told we weren't on the correct bus, so that was confusing as it's the only bus company that goes that way. The bus driver did however let us in as it wasn't busy! So just be careful when purchasing the combo ticket, you might not be able to get there.

I thouroughly enjoyed the Britannia guide displaying the Royal Yatch back through time. The tour was well planned and very informative with appropriately placed numbers that guided me through the ship. The handset was easy to operate and easy to hear at the various stations along the way. The entire tour was very well done. If I had to come up with one complaint I guess it would be the lenght of the tour. I would combine stations #26,27 and maybe another couple inside the ship dressing areas. My most surprising delight was the food in the "Tea Room". My glass of wine and cauliflower soup was absolutly outstanding! Thank you, very enjoyable.

The visit to Britannia was incredible. The staff were impeccable in their individual responsibilities, while being warm and inviting. The tour was created with respect yet highly detailed. Having tea in the tea restaurant was a delicious treat. I was ambivalent about taking this tour. Now I wouldn't miss it for anything. Make sure you do it😊🇬🇧

Learning about the history of this beautiful place was amazing! We opted not to use the headphones, as we felt they were a bit cumbersome and left my spouse and I feeling disconnected from one another. We liked being able to chat about what we were seeing and reading about on the signs. The building and grounds were absolutely lovely inside and out!

We definitely enjoyed both Britannia yacht and Holyrood castle visits. The boat is splendid and the visit isvery well organized ! We soecially enjoyed having tea and scones aboard 😎. It was wonderful to discover the residence where Mary, Queen of Scots, once lived. The ruined abbey and the beautiful gardens surrounding this palace are steeped in so much history—it’s hard to imagine! It’s a must-see if you’re visiting Edinburgh.

As the Palace of Holyroodhouse is a working royal palace, security and opening arrangements may be subject to change at short notice.

You may be subject to security checks. Some items may have to be checked in and reclaimed at the end of your visit.

For safety and security reasons, a one-way route operates inside the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

The palace is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Last admission time is 3:15pm.

Under 5s must be booked with a paid ticket.
