Museums in Heraklion

The history is what made this visit so great! Walking through the ancient site and learning about the Minoan civilization really brought the experience to life. I highly recommend purchasing your tickets in advance, especially if you’re visiting while cruise ships are in port. We were able to skip the long ticket lines and get ahead of the crowds. The lines were VERY long once the cruise-ship passengers arrived. The audio guide was also a great addition—it gave much more context to what we were seeing and made the visit even more interesting. Tip: Buy your tickets ahead of time and beat the cruise-ship crowds!

A very interesting visit to the Palace of Knossos. Immersing yourself in the myth of the Minotaur is a unique experience, and the site is fascinating. The audio guide included with the ticket proved to be essential: clear and full of details.

It was easy to get the tickets, even though the websites were convinced that combo tickets didn't exist! Very convenient

Great place to visit and easy to find, good parking for Knossos palace. However it wasn't advertised that the entry to the palace and the museum were split apart for 5 hours - so the entry to the palace was 8am and we couldn't enter the museum til 1pm! This changed our plans for the whole day

A very interesting museum due to the age of the display - amazing to think items went back to 6000BC! Beautifully displayed .
