The tour itself was good. Alejandro and Gio were good guides. They didn't talk too much to give us time to explore on out own. Time management was an issue. We had to wait for tardy guests, which affected the overall time that we had in some places.

Alan was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the Mexican history and culture. He was fabulous! I would suggest less political opinions, particularly at Tlatelolco.

The tour was very good. Everything worked according to what was offered. Our guide Eleasar managed the group very well, anticipating in a timely manner what we were going to do in each of the places we visited. His explanations were very clear and helped us to take advantage of each visit. The transportation was very comfortable and the restaurant was excellent. The investment was worth it. Thank you very much.

  • Ancient ruins in the morning, festive canals in the afternoon — this combo takes you from one of Mesoamerica's greatest cities straight to one of Mexico City's most beloved traditions.

Teotihuacán, Basilica de Guadalupe & Tlatelolco

Getting started Choose from two meeting points in Mexico City: MIGA CAFE, Calle Liverpool 174 or Palace of Fine Arts, Avenida Hidalgo 2. Your guide will meet you here before boarding the round-trip AC vehicle to Teotihuacán. What to expect Teotihuacán is the largest pre-Columbian city in the Americas, built around some of the most monumental pyramids ever constructed. Your bilingual guide walks you through the Avenue of the Dead, the Pyramid of the Sun, the Pyramid of the Moon, and the Temple of Quetzalcoatl — site entry is included. The tour then continues to the Basilica de Guadalupe, one of the most visited Catholic pilgrimage sites in the world, and the Plaza de las Tres Culturas in Tlatelolco, where Aztec ruins, a colonial church, and a modern building stand in deliberate contrast.

    Xochimilco Trajinera Party

Getting started Make your way independently to "El Chango," Calle del Mercado, San Jerónimo, Xochimilco. Your bilingual host meets you under the purple arches — arrive at least 10 minutes before the tour starts and bring a valid ID for age verification at boarding. What to expect Xochimilco's canal network is a UNESCO World Heritage Site — an ancient Aztec agricultural system of floating gardens, or chinampas, still in use today. Board a colorfully decorated trajinera and spend two hours on the water with unlimited tequila (blanco, reposado, and flavored), mezcal, beer, and soft drinks alongside traditional Mexican snacks. Live Mariachi music, onboard games, and a bilingual host make this as much a cultural experience as a celebration. Wrapping up The trajinera returns to Embarcadero Las Flores Nativitas at the end of the experience.

  • What to bring

    • Passport or ID – required for age verification at Xochimilco check-in.
    • Comfortable closed-toe shoes – Teotihuacán terrain is uneven.
    • Sunscreen and sunglasses – minimal shade at the archaeological site.
    • Cash – for optional purchases and tips.

    What's not allowed

    • Fishing, snorkeling, or diving in Xochimilco canals.
    • Fireworks and audio recording devices on the trajinera.
    • Drones

    Accessibility

    • The Teotihuacán and Basilica sections involve moderate walking.
    • Not suitable for anyone with serious mobility impairments.
    • Covered boats available at Xochimilco; tour runs rain or shine.

    Additional information

    • Bilingual guide (English/Spanish) for the Teotihuacán, Guadalupe & Tlatelolco leg.
    • Check in for Xochimilco 10 minutes before start time under the purple arches.
    • Dietary restrictions for the traditional meal on the trajinera must be notified in advance.
