Washington Monument Entry Tickets

What to bring

• Carry a valid ticket for entry, either printed or accessible on your mobile device.

What's not allowed

• Strollers and bags larger than 18 x 16 x 8 inches are not permitted.

• Weapons, sharp objects, or items with blades (including scissors and nail clippers) are strictly prohibited.

• Aerosol products such as sunscreen, deodorant, and insect repellent are not allowed inside.

• Lighters, e-cigarettes, vaporizers, and any flammable materials are prohibited.

• Smoking and vaping are not allowed anywhere inside the monument.

• Food and beverages are not permitted, except for small amounts of sealed snacks.

• Animals are not allowed, except for registered service animals.

• There are no storage facilities on-site, so restricted items must be left elsewhere.

Accessibility

• Wheelchairs are allowed, and the monument offers elevator access for visitors with mobility needs.

• Guests with medical devices such as pacemakers should notify security staff before screening for assistance.

Additional information

• Reservations are mandatory, with some tickets released one day in advance at 10am Eastern Time.

• The monument is closed on December 25, July 4, and part of July 3.

• Plan to arrive up to 30 minutes before your scheduled entry time to complete security checks and boarding.

• The monument may close temporarily due to severe weather conditions or scheduled maintenance.

• Most visitors spend ~30 minutes inside the monument.

• The entry ticket is a self-guided experience with digital guidebooks available in 3 languages: English, Spanish, and French.

• Your voucher will be emailed to you shortly.
• Display the voucher on your mobile phone with a valid photo ID at the starting point.
