The process of getting in to the Vatican once we picked up our ticket, was very easy. Our guide - and I apologize for not recalling the name, was very knowledgeable, shared fun details as well as little known facts and made the whole experience very memorable. Yes, the crowds were there, however a good guide - which we had, knows how to navigate them and still allow us to have a thorough look at the highlights. This was the highlight of our trip!

Amazing experience and well worth the extra money to skip the queue. Special shout out to our guide at the meeting point from Headout. We had made a large group booking and then added an extra person through a separate booking later. The extra person was actually booked in a different tour group but the team on the ground made a quick call and sorted it out so we could all stay together. You made our day so grazie!!!

Die Tour hat etwas länger gedauert als angekündigt, also lieber ne Stunde mehr einplanen, war gut organisiert, super nette Mitarbeiterinnen, haben einen schönen Eindruck vom Museum bekommen, auch wenn wir nicht alle Räume besucht haben, ist in der Zeit auch gar nicht möglich, müsste man schon einen halben Tag einplanen. Fabulous place to visit & definitely worth getting fast track tickets. We were met by a rep from Vivicos travel who was a delight. She was friendly, chatty and so welcoming. She walked us to the entrance of the vatican from their offices and took us right through the checkpoints to the desk inside where we met out guide (can't remember her name, but i know she was from the Philippines, so good at her job). I only wish our guide was as pleasant! She was quite moody & was obviously having a bad day as one of her colleagues hadnt turned up to work. She walked off quickly to.start the tour but i realised nobody could hear her anymore. When I told her she just snapped back & said 'I already asked if you could all hear me'. She didnt actually have her microphone attached so it was totally her fault, but no apology. One lady mentioned she still had problems with her earpiece but was met with a response of 'its not my fault'. That lady eventually left the group. I felt the tour was quite rushed in places, her accent was very strong and she spoke very fast. I spend £400 for an English speaking tour for 4 adults, wish I hadnt bothered with the guide and just made our own way around. That said, it is an amazing place to visit. So glad I booked fast track tickets separately for the basilica without a guide as we took our time and thoroughly enjoyed it as it is absolutely breathtaking. The walk to the domb isn't for the faint hearted, especially with temps in the high 30s, but SO worth it for the views. Great place to visit, but I'd definitely ditch the guided tour and take your time.

Siamo usciti dai Musei Vaticani arricchiti non solo dal punto di vista culturale, ma anche spirituale. Een zeer mooie uitstap gemaakt naar castel Gandolfo met de trein vanuit Rome. De residentie van de paus is zeer rustig gelegen op wandelafstand van het station van het dorp Castelli Gandolfo. De wandeling naar boven is op zich al een soort meditatie waarbij je steeds hoger boven het kratermeer uitkijkt. Eens boven kan je genieten van een weids uitzicht over het vulkaanmeer op een of ander terras. Daar wacht je ook een verfrissing of een goede maaltijd. De verzorgde eenvoudige tuin van Castel Gandolfo brengt je in een ontspannende sfeer. En het bezoek aan de vertrekken in de residentie brengen je dicht bij paus Leo en zijn voorgangers. Het drukke leven van een paus kan daar verstilling brengen en brengt hen dichter bij God.

Der Besuch war echt toll. Georgia , unsere Führerin, hat uns alles wichtiges und drüber hinaus viel gezeigt. Man hat gemerkt, dass sie selbst begeistert ist von dem was sie erzählt und hat uns auch oft auf die kleinen Details aufmerksam gemacht. Es war sehr sehr warm, daher haben wir vorher alle eine kleine Wasserflasche kostenlos bekommen und wurden auch während der Tour gefragt, ob alles okay ist. Nach der Tournkonntwn wir noch so lange in den Vatikanischen Museen bleiben wie wir wollten.

We have booked the skip the line tickets for the museum and Sistine Chapel along with the 2 hour tour. Indeed, we skipped the line which was very long on a Saturday morning! As soon as we got into the museum (we passed the security check very easy) we were directed to take the audio and the tour guide was waiting for us by the desk. The tour started immediately. Our tour guide Dora, was very kind, well explanatory and with very good use of English language.
