The number of dolphins we saw was absolutely mind blowing. We were hoping to see some but that was very unexpected. Sadly no whales this time but really worth while. The whole trip was relaxed and enjoyable.

fantastic sunny day with great information chucked at us through the sailing out to 40m depth where the gannets were diving. dolphins galore, great feeling in the wild.

Getting started
Your ticket includes a 4.5-hour whale watching cruise departing from Viaduct Harbour. Arrive 15–20 minutes early for boarding and check-in before stepping onboard for your Hauraki Gulf marine adventure.
What to expect
Wildlife encounters in the wild: Head into the Hauraki Gulf Marine Park for the chance to spot whales, dolphins, seals, and seabirds in their natural habitat.
Expert-led experience: Learn from experienced crew and marine biologists through live onboard commentary, offering insights into marine life and conservation efforts.
Purpose-built viewing vessel: Enjoy clear views from spacious indoor cabins and outdoor decks designed for wildlife spotting and photography.
Responsible and rewarding outing: Travel with an eco-focused operator, with a free return voucher if no whales or dolphins are seen during your trip.
What to bring
Bring your camera, binoculars, wind/shower-proof jacket, sun hat, sunscreen and sunglasses and seasickness medications.
What’s not allowed
Smoking and vaping are not allowed onboard.
Accessibility
Guests using light/manual wheelchairs can usually be accommodated if they have some mobility. There are two steps at the boarding area that guests must be able to manage (carer assistance is allowed).
Not all areas of the vessel, including some viewing decks, are wheelchair accessible
The main indoor area has a door sill of about 15 cm and restrooms also have a 15 cm door sill and limited space inside.
Heavy or motorised wheelchairs are not suitable, as they cannot be lifted onboard. The maximum wheelchair width allowed onboard is 67 cm.

Please note that your allocated seats may be released to stand-by passengers if you do not check in at least 15 minutes before departure.
Guests under 18 must be accompanied by an adult or guardian.
If guests don’t see any dolphins or whales, they’ll receive a free return voucher for themselves and their group. There’s no expiry and can be used anytime they visit again.
