Rottnest Island Guided Snorkelling Tour: 9am Departure

Explore Rottnest Island from the water on a guided 3-hour snorkelling experience. Cruise between sheltered bays aboard a stable, comfortable snorkelling vessel, then get in the water for two guided 45-minute snorkelling sessions.

Getting started

The tour departs daily from Fuel Jetty in Thomson Bay on Rottnest Island, depending on your selected option. Meet at your designated departure point 15 minutes before your booked departure time to collect any rental equipment you need. Guests making their own way to Rottnest can meet the tour at Fuel Jetty in Thomson Bay.

What to expect

• Cruise around Rottnest: Step aboard the custom-built snorkelling vessel and cruise through Rottnest’s shallow bays. Your crew will share stories and insights about the island as you make your way to the first snorkelling site.

• Snorkel in sheltered bays: Enjoy two 45-minute sessions in the water, guided by qualified in-water snorkel guides. Snorkelling takes place in sheltered and protected sites, with water depths of around 1–4 metres.

• Discover marine life: Rottnest Island is home to more than 400 species of fish, including 135 species of tropical fish, as well as around 20 types of coral and multiple shipwrecks suitable for snorkelling.

• Get support in the water: Additional flotation aids are available for less confident snorkelers, including flotation vests and pool noodles. The tour welcomes beginners through to experienced snorkelers.

• Enjoy refreshments between sessions: After your first 45-minute snorkelling session, enjoy light refreshments while the boat relocates to your second snorkelling site.

• Return to the jetty: After your second snorkelling session, enjoy a short cruise back to the jetty. The experience finishes within approximately 3 hours of your departure time.
