Lea Salonga

In her 30-year career, Lea Salonga has performed in some of the biggest theatre productions around the world including Les Miserables where she made history by being the first Asian to sing the parts of Eponine and Fantin, and the recent Grammy Award-nominated Broadway revival of Once on this Island, in which she starred as the Goddess of Love, Erzulie. But Salonga who last performed at Dubai Opera in 2017 is perhaps best known as the Disney Legend who lent her singing voice to two Disney Princesses, namely Jasmine from Aladdin and Mulan. She also won a Tony for her groundbreaking performance in Miss Saigon. In addition to that, she has also won Olivier, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, and Theatre World Awards in the field of musical theatre.

Lea has also enjoyed a successful solo career. She was the first Filipino singer to get signed by an international record label and her 1993 self-titled third album was multi-platinum selling. ‘The Human Heart Tour’ in 2019 saw sold-out audiences and record-breaking sales across North America. Lea is a matter of pride to the Filipinos who remain ever inspired by her drive to conquer the international stage and showcase her talents to audiences from around the world.
