Fantastic experience. I had overnight at airport hotel and chose Nging Ping as way to spend the day. Wonderful views of the mountains, the town, the sea and the airport and so many shades of green in the forests underneath. The wee village quaintly touristy but not rip off prices and I had nice lunch. Walked the many steps to the Big Buddha and strolled the quietness towards the forest trails. Amazing resource for hikers which I am not!!! Mountain mist did not spoil return journey. Cable car entry and exit well organised and efficient.

I had a day to explore Hongkong as my flight was delayed. I chose to visit Ngong Ping cable car and Buddha Statue. Getting the tickets was easy using Headout. It was even cheaper than getting the tickets in person. The Cable Car tour was amazing. The whole experience was fantastic.

It was crowded but the line waiting was not to long. Otherwise the views were outstanding and the ride was very comfortable.

The queues ruined the experience. I think the cable car views were fantastic but the wait was ridiculous. It needs to be better organised. Or made clearer that the crystal ungrade makes a whole lot of difference. I precooked my ticket but the queue was so long. There was a gentleman who was made to queue who had a small fold away stall who clearly should have been allowed to the front of the line. He fell back off his stool.

Ngong Ping Cable Car

Ngong Ping Cable Car is a visually spectacular 5.7km bi-cable ropeway. As the first of its kind Hong Kong tourist destination, the cable car journey begins from Tung Chung, crossing Tung Chung Bay to reach the angle station on Airport Island and turning about 60 degrees in the air towards North Lantau. Enjoy some of the best views during your 25-minute ride: the vistas of the distant and vast South China Sea and the rolling grassland slopes of North Lantau Country Park from the crystal cable car with unique glass bottom feature slowly take over from the hustle and bustle of the city.
