The smaller boat felt like more like an adventure than a cruise. The slow trip up the sound allowed us to take in the eye-popping scenery. Loved the taste of the Tasman Sea. Then the dolphins, seals and then"glacial facial" on the return trip were amazing. The on-board commentary was just enough and let the Sound speak for herself. A NZ highlight for us.

Of course the sound itself is spectacular but really enjoyed our skipper, he gave us lots of interesting facts and was really great at finding wildlife for us. We were lucky to see the fur seals sunning themselves and the rare crested penguins too. All the staff we encountered were friendly and made for a brilliant day!

It was a perfect day, sun, great staff, wonderful bunch of people and even dolphins. I have thought of this trip for 40 years and it did not disappoint. Milford sound is a very special place.

the boat was the perfect size, not too crowded and lots of space, captian was informative and took thier time around the more interesting spots. hot coffee was a total bonus!

It was worth it, definitely a must! The crew were very nice and accommodating. We enjoyed the waterfalls shower and seeing the seals. The views are breathtaking as well.

Booking was simple, email with Joining instructions clear and helpful car parking information. We booked 11am tour and there was plenty of space in the free car park, easy 20 min walk, rough surface probably not good for kids buggies. Easy check in and friendly staff. Boat departed on time, good commentary although sometimes it wasn't very clear. Stunning views and close up ride to the waterfalls, saw seals too! Highly recommend, all staff polite and friendly 👍
