2026년 5월5/5Took the tour with my partner and we had the time of our lives! Our guide Rachid was soooo patient with all my questions (I ask a lot, lol) and shared little stories about his childhood in the area. Honestly, the camel ride felt a bit bumpy but seeing the sun set over the dunes was UNREAL. I got sand in my shoes and hair but didn't care at all. The food at the camp was tasty (try the chicken tagine if you can). We stayed up late chatting with other travelers around the fire. If you're on the fence, just go for it. Only thing – bring a jacket, it gets way colder at night than you think!2026년 5월5/5We did this as a family of 4 with two kids (8 & 11). Our guide Musti was super nice and patient with the kids' endless questions. The desert camp was like something out of a movie, and the drumming around the fire was a blast. My youngest tried to count all the stars – gave up after 20 minutes. The only downside was the drive, which is LONG, but the stops were interesting. If you have kids, bring snacks and games for the road. Would do it all again!2026년 5월5/5Took this trip with three friends and we all LOVED it. The camel ride was hilarious, we kept laughing the whole time (one of us almost fell off, don't worry, she was fine). Our guide Youssef had the best stories and even sang for us at the camp. The food was much better than I expected! Also, they let us try on traditional clothes for pics, so fun. Only thing – wish we could've stayed one more night in the desert. The sunrise was magical.2026년 5월5/5I came solo and was a bit nervous, but the group was friendly and the guide, Karim, made everyone feel included. The drive is LONG, ngl, but we stopped a few times for snacks and photos (the mountain views were EPIC). Camp was more glam than expected—comfy beds, clean bathrooms. Not crazy about the breakfast, kinda basic, but dinner was solid. Camel ride was fun but my legs hurt the next day, haha. Good value overall, would recommend!2026년 5월5/5Wasn't sure what to expect but wow, this was AMAZING. The guides are super chill – shoutout to Ahmed! The drive is pretty long but you see so much. Stopped at a super old kasbah and got to pet some camels before the ride. Desert camp was comfy, even had charging points for our phones. Would skip the touristy gift shop stop, felt unnecessary. Otherwise, 10/10.
Travel from Marrakesh to the Zagora Desert on a 2-day tour with camel rides at sunset and sunrise plus 1 night accommodation.
Getting started
Meet your driver at the meeting point, Hôtel Restaurant Café de France on Jemaa el-Fnaa in central Marrakech. After your mobile ticket is checked and your group is confirmed, board your comfortable air-conditioned vehicle with fuel included. Settle into your seat as you begin the journey out of the city toward the Atlas foothills and the desert landscapes ahead.
Ait Benhaddou
What to expect
Visit Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified village and UNESCO-listed ksar that sits between Marrakech and the desert. You explore its earthen alleyways and stepped architecture on foot with a dedicated Ait Ben Haddou local guide.
Features
-
Walk through the ksar while your Ait Ben Haddou local guide explains how the mudbrick houses and alleys are arranged and points out key viewpoints over the surrounding valley.
-
Use your in-person and Audioguide in 5 languages to follow along in English, Spanish, French, Arabic, or Portuguese so the stories remain accessible as you move through the site.
-
Travel to and from Ait Ben Haddou in an air-conditioned vehicle with fuel included, so the long-distance transfer between Marrakech, the ksar, and the Zagora Desert is covered for you.
Zagora desert and camel trek
What to expect
Continue onward to the Zagora Desert, where you swap wheels for a traditional camel trek. The experience focuses on light desert exploration rather than deep Sahara dunes, with key moments timed for changing light.
Features
-
Join camel rides at sunset and sunrise, with one camel provided for each participant so you can ride individually across the desert terrain at both times of day.
-
Follow your camel caravan as the sky shifts through evening and early morning colors, giving you two distinct perspectives on the Zagora Desert environment.
-
Keep your essentials with you while the air-conditioned vehicle with fuel included handles your main luggage and the overland sections between Marrakech and the desert.
Desert overnight stay
What to expect
Your first day ends and your second day begins in the desert, with a simple overnight stay that breaks the journey and frames both camel treks. This 1 night accommodation is included in the tour.
Features
-
Spend 1 night accommodation in the Zagora desert area, which forms your base between the sunset and sunrise camel rides and allows you to rest between driving stages.
-
