The whole adventure was just unreal. You should definitely sign up for this trip, it'll stick with you! Our guide kept us laughing and was really patient anytime someone needed help. We enjoyed every second.

Honestly, this horseback trip was incredible. Hugo was our guide, and I can’t say enough about how thoughtful he was. We got to spend time with the horses and even meet the other animals around the farm, which was a nice touch. The waterfall was a perfect place to cool down. I did have a little slip and split my chin on a wet rock (totally my own clumsy fault), but everyone took such good care of me—arranged for a ride to the hospital, waited with me, and made sure I got back okay. I felt looked after all the way through, so I’ll be telling everyone I know to book this. Big thanks for turning a rough moment into something I’ll actually remember fondly!

We booked as two families, and everyone from grandparents down to our youngest (age 8) had a blast. Pickup from the hotel was right on schedule, which we appreciated. Once at the starting point, our guide reviewed all the basics clearly—great for us, since some of us had never ridden before. The horses were so gentle and responsive. The forest felt like another world, and we kept stopping to hear about different birds and trees. The swim stop at the waterfall was such a treat—kids barely wanted to leave! Only minor downside was a bit of waiting at the ranch before we started, but otherwise, excellent outing for groups.

Honestly, the flexibility with pickup was a big win for us. The guides handled my daughter’s nerves like pros—when she started crying at the start, they sent someone to ride next to her and kept her calm the whole time. Seriously kind folks. The landscape on the ride is stunning and there were plenty of cool animals around—farm critters, a toucan, butterflies, even some frogs. They gave us plenty of time to swim at the waterfall and the lunch afterward really hit the spot. Felt like a good deal for everything you get.

Went horseback riding with Joseph today and we really loved it. My husband has barely any riding experience but Joseph was there to help every step, and the horses chosen for us were steady and calm. Would totally do it again!

Getting started

Get picked up from your hotel and travel to the ranch in the comfort of included transportation to and from your hotel. On arrival, meet your bilingual guides, receive your horse assignment, and get a short briefing. Once everyone is ready, you set out together on the trail that leads into the surrounding rainforest.

What to expect

Rainforest horseback trail

The experience centers on a guided ride along forest paths that cut through lush rainforest and open to views over the valley.

Features

Follow your horse along rainforest trails while you explore the lush rainforest on horseback, moving between shaded forest and more open sections. Your bilingual guides ride with you, setting the pace, helping riders as needed, and pointing out details along the way.

Pause at viewpoints where you can enjoy views of the valley and local wildlife, with time to look around and take photos from the saddle or during short stops.

Refreshments are provided as beverages during the experience, so you can rehydrate during or after the ride without needing to bring your own drinks.

Waterfall stop

Partway through the ride, the group reaches a waterfall, where you take a longer break off the horses.

Features

Spend about 30 minutes at a waterfall, with a stop for relaxation or a swim depending on your preference. This is your chance to cool off, rest your legs, and enjoy the water before remounting.

Your guides supervise timing at the waterfall, help riders in and out of the water if needed, and then organize everyone back onto the horses to continue the route.

Ranch lunch

After the ride, you return to the ranch area for a meal before heading back to your accommodation.
