It was a beautiful play because it depicts the anguish that lies behind selling a childhood home and accepting the reality of financial hardship. It was touching and very well acted.

The Cherry Orchard is one of my favourite Chekhov plays and this production does it full justice. While I booked tickets because Kirsten Scott Thomas was starring, the entire cast was wonderful. Loved the set. The emotional turmoil caused the family because the Cherry Orchard was going to be cut down and the site redeveloped resonated with me as in my own community developers have taken advantage of the need for more housing to get planning permission to axe mature trees that were previously protected. I was also very moved by the loss of the family home having just emptied and sold my own parents' home of 65 years. And Chekhov does dysfunctional family dynamics so well...

Ho apprezzato molto questa messa in scena del giardino dei ciliegi in versione moderna, l' idea originale di non fare vedere il giardino ma solo intuirlo ,l' intesa fra i bravissimi attori soprattutto durante la festa,la bravura speciale di una attrice che amo molto e per dire la verità ho preso i biglietti dall' Italia specialmente per lei.

Excellent acting with a stellar cast. Seats very tight and uncomfortable. Some of the actors need to project since we could not hear all the dialogue in the Dress Circle.
