It was with great anticipation that we walked toward the Adelphi Theatre, greeted by staff who made us feel like VIPs — only to discover we were a day early. Great Scott! The next evening, that same excitement carried us back, and what a show awaited us. The performances were electrifying, the sets spectacular, and just when we thought the night couldn’t get any better, we witnessed a truly heartwarming farewell as the cast was joined on stage by members of the original crew, the director, and the authors behind the beloved books and films. It was the perfect ending to our London visit — and the perfect way to introduce both the world of musical theatre and the magic of Back to the Future to my three teenage daughters. If this show taught us anything, it’s that when you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything.

It was my first time watching a live musical and I didn't like the first 10 minutes or so, maybe I could say I was bored. After that, the spectacle follows! An excellently crafted story, the actors were excellent, dancing, singing, acting, everything was on point. The set design and special effects really surprised me with their quality and appearance. The sound was crystal clear. Although I'm not a fan of that genre of theater, I would like to see a few more musicals. A small complaint goes to the seats on the second floor, which are quite narrow and very close to each other. The theater staff is extremely friendly and deserves every compliment.

Show was great, full or energy and great special effects around the De Lorean, which is an important part of the story... Quite faithful theater reproduction based on the film, with the main classic lines, which is good for fans of the movie. Could have kept some of the storylines closeer to the movie, but understand certain things need to change for a theater represenation. All in all we really enjoyed it and was a highlight of the London trip. Thanks to all the performers!

Premetto che avevo letto una recensione che diceva che l'inizio era un pochino noioso, personalmente devo dire che mi ha tenuto attaccato al palco tutto lo spettacolo. Chi ama il film deve assolutamente guardarlo, fidati che non resterai deluso. Effetti speciali degni di nota, a tratti anche molto esilerante. Il doc è il numero uno come attore. Se dovessi riavere occasione lo riguarderei ancora. TOP!!

The story

For anyone who saw Back to the Future as a young adult the nostalgia of the fashion gave us our first chuckle. The sets for each scene were cleverly done and what they did with the dolorian was amazing. The story line was true to the original with the addition of some humour that made us laugh out loud, and plenty of dancing and singing. There was quite a few children at our show and a few phrases got them giggling too. I thought Doc was the star of the show, he had the x-factor! My husband was dragged along to the 'musical' but came away having totally enjoyed the show and the special effects.
