Our visit to Dubai Ice Rink at Dubai Mall was an unforgettable experience. I went with three of my friends, and from the moment we stepped onto the ice, we were surrounded by excitement, laughter, and great energy. The rink was spacious, beautifully maintained, and had a fantastic atmosphere that made the experience feel special. Even though some of us were beginners, the friendly environment made us feel comfortable and encouraged us to keep trying. We enjoyed skating together, taking photos, cheering each other on, and laughing at our funny falls. The staff were helpful and professional, and the overall organisation made everything smooth and enjoyable. What made the experience unique was the way Dubai Ice Rink offered a refreshing winter escape right in the heart of Dubai Mall. It was the perfect activity to enjoy with friends, especially for creating memorable moments together. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, energetic, and different experience in Dubai. Lace up at one of Dubai's only real-ice rinks, located inside the world's largest shopping destination.

Getting started

Head to Dubai Mall's ground floor, between the Waterfall Atrium and The Souk, directly under the cinema. If arriving by car, follow signs to Cinema Parking (Level P3). Collect your skates and socks from the rental counter. Ice marshals help fit skates correctly if you're unsure. Store personal items in lockers provided, as bags are not allowed on the ice.

What to expect

Dubai Ice Rink is an Olympic-sized rink featuring real ice maintained at -5°C and resurfaced by Zamboni machines throughout the day.

Features

Your 90-minute session gives you full access to the rink, with over 2,000 pairs of Italian-made skates available in sizes EU25 to EU52.

Children 100cm and above can skate. Those between 100cm and 120cm must skate with an adult; children 120cm and above can skate alone.

The rink averages -5°C, so dress warmly with covered arms and legs. Gloves are available for purchase on-site.

Skating aids (penguin, seal, snowman), helmets, and VIP skates can be purchased at the rink if needed.

Long dresses, national dress, and trailing clothing are not permitted for safety reasons.

One spectator per group enters free. Additional spectators pay a small fee at the venue.

First aid staff and a private medical room are on-site throughout all sessions.

What to bring

Warm clothing: The temperature at the rink averages around -5 degrees Celsius. It is highly recommended to wear long trousers, sweaters, or jackets.

Socks: Thick socks are essential for comfort and to prevent blisters inside the skates. While socks are often provided with your ticket, bringing your own pair of warm, thick socks is a good idea.

Gloves: To protect your hands from the cold and potential falls, bring a pair of cozy gloves. If you forget them, they are usually available for purchase at the venue.

Valid ID: Keep a physical or digital copy of a valid photo ID (Emirates ID or Passport) handy for age and identity verification if required.

What's not allowed

Trailing clothing: For safety reasons, long dresses, skirts, national dress (Abayas/Kanduras), or any loose, trailing clothing that could get caught or cause a trip are strictly prohibited on the ice.

Electronics on ice: Mobile phones, personal stereos, and cameras (including selfie sticks) are not allowed while skating to prevent distractions and accidents.

Food and beverages: Consumption of food, drinks, or chewing gum is strictly prohibited on the ice.

Large bags: Carrying backpacks or large handbags on the ice is not permitted as they can affect your balance. Lockers are available for rent to store these items.

Intoxication: Guests under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be denied entry for safety reasons.

Accessibility

The Dubai Ice Rink is located within the Dubai Mall, which is fully wheelchair accessible. Spectator areas are accessible for those in wheelchairs.

Professional marshals are available on-site to assist guests. However, it is recommended that guests with specific physical disabilities contact the venue in advance to ensure the best possible experience.

For beginners or children who need extra stability, skating aids (such as penguins, seals, or snowmen) are available for hire on a first-come, first-served basis.

Additional information

Children must be at least 100cm tall to skate. Children between 100cm and 120cm must be accompanied by a skating adult at all times.

Each standard ticket typically grants you a 90-minute skating session.

Small lockers are available for a nominal fee (approx. AED 15) to store your personal belongings like shoes and bags while you are on the ice.

This experience is not recommended for pregnant women or individuals with heart, neck, back, or joint problems.

If you don't wish to skate, you can purchase a spectator ticket to watch the action from the viewing area.

It is best to arrive 15–30 minutes before your scheduled session to allow time for skate fitting and gear preparation.
