Depart Ouarzazate at 8:30 AM from your hotel or riad and cross the scenic Tizi’n-Tinififft pass (1,660m) to Agdz and the Dra’a Valley. Enjoy a tea or coffee break before heading off-road through palm groves, gardens, riverside oases and ancient kasbahs. Continue to Zagora, known for its dates.
At the Tinfou Dunes, savour traditional tea and Moroccan pastries, ride a camel across the golden sands and try optional sandboarding. Enjoy a Moroccan lunch in a nomad tent while learning about Saharan nomadic life.
Continue to Tamegroute to visit its Quranic library, home to rare manuscripts, and explore workshops where artisans craft the region’s distinctive green pottery.
On the return journey, visit the partly inhabited Kasbah Tamnougalt, with its historic alleys and former Jewish quarter. Pause for a final tea or coffee, with an optional guided walk through the kasbah, before returning to Ouarzazate around 6:00 PM.
