Absolut phantastisch, das Personal war freundlich und kompetent. Die Fahrt herauf zum Gornergrat bietet auf jedem Meter tolle Aussicht auf Zermatt und das Matterhorn. Oben angekommen genießt man den Blick auf die vielen Gletscher und 28 Viertausender. Ein unvergessliches Erlebnis.

The ride is spectacular! As your trip progresses, the view widens on dramatic glaciers and beautiful mountain panoramas, including of course the majestic Matterhorn! The track itself with its multiple tunnels and viaducts is a masterpiece of engineering!

This is an ESSENTIAL trip for anyone visiting Switzerland. 'Stunning' doesn't do justice to the views you get, and it is surprising how quickly you climb out from Zermatt to see views to die for. Don't be put off if it's cloudy in the town, likelihood is the clouds will only be in the valley, and up above will be warm and sunny (as it was for us last week). I took the opportunity to hike down between two fo the train stations when we came down - probably the most beautiful walk I've ever done. 100% a 'must do'......

We left Zermatt in heavy fog, hoping we would break through to sunshine as we rose higher. The air was thick and it felt a little creepy that we could not see anything until we were upon it. The fog dissipated some by the time we reached the first station. We moved into the giant gondola that would take us to the top. The coach was fairly full of hopeful riders. As we neared the top we broke through the fog to see the Matterhorn shining through the mist. The whole coach cheered!

The Matterhorn excursion left me breathless in the best way. Watching that iconic peak rise into the sky felt like stepping into a living postcard—one painted by God Himself. The gondola ride, stunning views, amenities, and experiences at the different stops were definitely worth the price of the ticket! One recommendation: clearer signage. We asked 4 different town employees if we were on the right road and each gave us different instructions or did not know the answer. One person told us that it was a one minute walk from the train/shuttle station to the gondola.

Visit both Matterhorn Glacier Paradise (3,883 m) and Gornergrat (3,089 m) with a single, great-value pass.

To visit Gornergrat, board the open-air cogwheel train from Zermatt and ascend to the mountain ridge for panoramic Matterhorn views, scenic trails, and photo-perfect moments.

Zermatt is a car-free location. To reach the meeting point, use public transportation or take a taxi.

You can book tickets for the second attraction the next day or up to two months later—flexible scheduling, subject to availability.

Pets, specifically dogs, are welcome at Matterhorn Glacier Paradise and Gornegrat Railways and ride free; just keep them leashed or in a carrier as needed.
