At Chenonceau, walk through the halls once graced by the powerful women of French history—Catherine de Medici and Diane de Poitiers.

Step into the valley's biggest castle—Chambord to explore over 60 rooms and climb the da Vinci-inspired double helix staircase which allows two visitors to ascend and descend simulataneously, without crossing paths.

Visit da Vinci's final residence (1516-1519) at Clos Luce, which is now restored and converted into a museum dedicated to his life, art, and inventions.

Pay homage to da Vinci's tomb at the Chapel of Saint-Hubert located within the Amboise castle. This castle was particularly favored by the French kings as a royal residence.

Loved this castle. The history was important, relevant and you were able to follow it, see it and feel it. The castle visit was very well organized. Additionally and personally I thought this castle was more elegant, cozy and full of relatable history. My favorite

Accès rapide sans attente à 9h20. Nombreux parkings bien indiqués. Circuit bien flèche jusqu'au château. Visite du château bien fléché également. Nombreux points pour une collation et restauration.

Spectaculaires, ces châteaux du XVIe font partis des incontournables an ne pas manquer si vous êtes dans la région. Les vins de Chambord sont également superbes.

Chenonceau Castle

A masterpiece of Renaissance architecture, Chenonceau is the second most-visited castle in France after Versailles, with an annual footfall of 1.3 million visitors. Pick up a multilingual visitor's guide and step inside to explore the Medici Gallery which spans the Cher River, the multitude unique collection of paintings, sculptures, and tapesteries, and the manicured gardens which have been maintained since the bygone years.

Chambord Castle

Built to serve as the king's hunting lodge, Chambord is the biggest castle in the Loire Valley—home to 400 rooms, 365 fireplaces, and da Vinci-inspired double helix staircase.

Amboise Castle

Built on a rocky spur overlooking the Loire River, this castle was a favored royal residence during the French Renaissance. Today, visitors go there not just for the panoramic views of the valley but also to pay homage to da Vinci's tomb which lies in the Chapel of Saint-Hubert.

Clos Luce Castle

Known for being the last residence of Leonardo da Vinci (1516-1519), who arrived at the castle on invitation from King Francis I, Clos Luce is a well-preserved example of Renaissance architecture. Visit to see and learn about da Vinci's many inventions, including flying machines, military equipment, and architectural designs.

Chaumont-sur-Loire Castle

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the castle is most famous for the annual International Garden Festival (Apr-Nov) which sees 30 magnificent gardens created by teams of artists, architects, and designers. Additionally, there are contemporary art exhibitions too which draw a significant crowd.
