An unexpected delight to be honest. I wasn't familiar with the place and got the tickets thinking it's just a historic castle without high expectations, but when you go inside and start the museum tour, it's a whole new world, some of the most unique and beautiful pieces i have ever seen in my life. There are several parts to the museum such as decorative furniture, egytian arquitecture, etc. but one of them stood up the most in my eyes and it was the paintings rooms, over hundreds of old and unique paintings that makes you stand in front of each one for hours and just look at them and admire them. If you have never been to this place i highly recommend it, definitely on the top of my list of things to see in Milan.

Great place to spend time at. Reserve minimum 3-4 hours to fully enjoy not only Castello's museum but also beautiful PARK Semptione around, where you can ralax sipping delicious coffee and observing Milan slowmotion weekend life. Missing it!

Nice experience. But confusing info didn't explain well that we had to exchange the online ticket for a paper ticket. So we had to walk all the way back to the office... Also wasn't clear that to used the audio guide you had to download Headout app AND you had to have your own headphones or earbuds...

Entrée facile mais le château est plus un musée où toutes les époques se mélangent. Pas de dépliant pour se guider à l'intérieur des salles. Un peu déçue.

The view from the Piazza is so spectacular, that we chose to have a quick lunch which provided us with front seats to the incredible architecture of the forteress. Inside the Pinacoteca, every object is a masterpiece and the paintings, particularly those with mythological subjects, are quite striking. The lavatories, on the other hand are a disgrace.

Our tour guide David was exceptional. Knowledgeable and very easy to talk to throughout the tour. The pace was just right and got to see so much of the castle, tower and surrounding gardens. Thank you for a great morning .

Getting started

Enter Castello Sforzesco after validating your ticket at the entrance. Follow on-site signs to the museum entrance where staff will direct you toward the Castle Museums and current exhibitions. If your option includes a self-guided audio, you will receive instructions on where to begin that experience inside.

What to expect

Your ticket focuses on the interior of Castello Sforzesco, where multiple Castle Museums and rotating exhibitions trace different periods of Milanese art and history. You move between museum sections at your own pace, following the layout of the castle complex.

Features

Access to the Castle Museums lets you explore the castle’s main museum spaces, with collections arranged across different rooms and wings inside the historic fortress. Some sections of the museum may be closed for restoration (like Sala delle Asse) during your visit.

Entry to the exhibitions is included, so you can step into the dedicated exhibition areas and see the temporary displays hosted inside the castle during your ticket validity.

Upgrade for audio commentary, or add a guided tour of not just the castle but also Torre Branca in Parco Sempione.
