Although I've rated you a 5, that could change. Unfortunately when I booked and paid for my 3 tickets, 2 adults and 1 adult concession, there wasn't a category for a carer. Our son Billy 35, has severe learning disabilities and unable to walk. He has either to be in a wheelchair or a motor scooter. He has Lennox Gault Syndrome, where he can have over 100 seizures a day, despite being on medication to reduce those numbers, and has to have 2:1 care 24/7. He also operates mentally as a 5 year old and loved the dinosaurs. When we presented our tickets at reception, they were surprised to see that we had 3 tickets and explained that we should be able to claim a refund for Billy's official care, his mother Melanie. They advised us to contact you and claim the carer concession. Here's hoping we can keep the rating as a 5 🌟. We all had an excellent day. Billy particularly enjoyed feeding the birds. Visited with my 4 Yr old Grandson. He loved the Dinosaur section and the small primate section. We had a great time seeing all the different animals and he enjoyed his frozen crush during in a specialised Toucan cup in the cafe.

Blackpool zoo is great. So many beautiful animals in a lovely setting. We had a lovely day & wish we could have stayed longer. If you love animals it is a must.

Was brilliant loved it so much to do as well loads of animals loads to see at the zoo plenty to do and see brilliant places and lovely staff and shops

Fantastic day out.could be better for photography as you struggle to get photos of some of the animals.ie dirty glass that looked like it had never been cleaned.

We love Blackpool zoo so much, we have always brought our kids here and much prefer it over Chester zoo even though Chester is closer to home. The queues are better dealt with and the speed in which you get in is miles ahead of Chester in my experience

Blackpool Zoo

Blackpool Zoo is a 37-acre wildlife park home to around 1,000 animals, featuring naturalistic habitats, daily talks, feeding sessions, and a strong focus on conservation, education, and animal welfare.

What’s not allowed

Large suitcases and oversized baggage are not permitted inside the zoo.

Accessibility

Blackpool Zoo is fully wheelchair accessible. However, the zoo features mixed terrain, including tarmac, concrete, brick, tile, dirt paths, and aggregate surfaces.

Accessible toilets are available at every toilet block.

All public buildings offer at least one wheelchair-accessible entrance.

Service animals are not allowed inside Blackpool Zoo.

Subject to availability, trained assistance dogs can be looked after by staff if arranged in advance.

Additional information

Last entry is 45 minutes before closing. The zoo opens daily at 10am, though closing times may vary seasonally.

One free carer ticket is available per paying visitor with a disability (valid proof required on arrival).

Parking is not included and costs GBP 4.50 per day.

Guests who have not downloaded tickets in advance may be refused entry due to limited on-site Wi-Fi.
