Your visit focuses on Bahia Palace, a landmark complex in Marrakech known for its courtyards, halls, and interior details. You will move through its different sections independently, using on-site signposting together with your audio content to decide how long to spend in each area.

The Digital audio guide app for a self-guided tour provides commentary on the palace’s main rooms, courtyards, and decorative details, so you can decide where to pause, replay, or skip based on your interests.

The digital audio guide app works as your on-the-spot reference, allowing you to listen to explanations while you walk rather than relying on printed maps or fixed group schedules.

Since this is a self-guided visit, you can adjust your pace, revisit specific sections that interest you most, and finish your time inside the palace whenever you are ready.

What to bring

Bring your own headphones (preferably wired or noise-cancelling) to hear the commentary clearly over the bustle of the crowds.

Bring a fully charged smartphone/power bank, comfortable walking shoes, a refillable water bottle, and sun protection.

What's not allowed

Suitcases, oversized backpacks, and large travel gear are strictly prohibited for security and space reasons. There is no official cloakroom on-site, so leave these at your Riad.

While photography is encouraged, tripods and professional video equipment usually require special permits and are generally not allowed for casual visitors.

To preserve the ancient pigments and carved cedarwood, avoid using flash inside the smaller chambers.

This is a cultural and historic site; being under the influence of alcohol or bringing alcohol is strictly forbidden.

Pets are not allowed on this experience.

Accessibility

The palace is mostly on one level, which makes it more accessible than many other Marrakech sites. However, expect narrow doorways and uneven stone thresholds between rooms.

Manual wheelchairs can navigate most of the main courtyards (like the Great Courtyard), but some of the inner riads and smaller doorways may be tight or have a small step.

Similar to wheelchairs, lightweight "umbrella" strollers are manageable, but heavy-duty strollers may be a struggle in the narrower passages.

Accessible restroom facilities are very limited inside the monument itself.

Additional information

The palace does not always have a strong, free Wi-Fi signal at the entrance. It is highly recommended to download your audio guide app and its content while you are still at your hotel.

Ensure your app has an "Offline Mode" so you don't burn through roaming data while wandering the 150+ rooms.

Some areas of the Bahia Palace may be temporarily closed due to renovations. The palace remains open to visitors. No refunds or discounts will be provided due to these temporary closures.

No strict dress code, but modest attire (shoulders and knees covered) is recommended out of cultural respect.
