great experience to get to see more of the stadium I've been to manyt times... a forever highlight will be that's I'm able to say I've been inside the famous scoreboard !!! Michael was a brilliant guide... much appreciated

I have done the tour 3 times. a different perspective every time. Volunteer tour guides are great. so much history behind the scenes at the oval. The old scoreboard is always a highlight as are the honour boards and trophys in the cricket dressing rooms.

Excellent tour especially the visit to the scoreboard topped off by the knowledge of the facility of the tour guide . Unfortunately I have forgotten his name . Highly recommended for both visitors and locals .

Our tour guide was fantastic, gave a great insight into the ground. He welcomed comments from the group and interected with us. The scoreboard was fascinating to see and I feel sorry for the workers in there on a really hot day with a north wind blowing. Definately the best oval in the world to play cricket or football on. Would reccommend the tour to anyone who loves cricket or football to take the tour. The Bradman museum was brilliant and is available to see everyday for free.

This tour far exceeded our expectations. What a magnificent sporting oval! The combinations of old and new along with cricket and AFL are remarkable. Getting started

Arrive at the Adelaide Oval Concierge Desk, located through the South Gate off War Memorial Drive, 15 minutes before your scheduled tour begins. After a brief welcome from your engaging volunteer guide, the tour sets off through the oval’s historic corridors.

What to expect

On this 90-minute guided tour, you’ll explore areas usually reserved for players, officials, and the press. From walking through the players’ race onto the hallowed turf to gazing at Sir Donald Bradman’s treasured memorabilia, the experience blends rich history with exclusive behind-the-scenes access. Whether you’re a cricket devotee, a footy fan, or simply curious about Adelaide’s culture, this tour reveals stories, secrets, and spaces that bring the Oval to life.

The Bradman Collection Museum: Get up close with Sir Donald Bradman’s personal artifacts, cricket bats, handwritten journals, photographs, and trophies.

Players’ race & dressing rooms: Stand where cricket and AFL stars prepare before walking onto the field; feel the thrill of game-day anticipation.

The heritage-listed 1911 scoreboard: Marvel at one of the world’s last manually operated scoreboards, still in use during matches.

Media centre & commentary boxes: Step into the press boxes where world-famous commentators call the action.

What’s not allowed

Balls, cricket or sporting bats longer than 30cm are not allowed.

Bicycles, scooters, rollerblades, skates and skateboards are not allowed.

Cans, tins, metal containers, glass bottles, flag poles and/or extendable flag poles over 1 metre in length are not allowed.

Professional standard still or video cameras, audio recording devices and tripods, and lenses with a total-focal strength of greater than 200mm are not allowed.

Weapons and inflatable items are not allowed inside the venue.

Smoking is not allowed inside the venue except in the designated areas.

Pets cannot tag along for this experience.
