A single 6-day rail pass lets you travel across designated areas of Tohoku and South Hokkaido by train.
Coverage includes the Hokkaido Shinkansen from Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto to Shin-Aomori and the Tohoku Shinkansen from Shin-Aomori to Shirakawa.
The pass also covers the Akita Shinkansen from Akita to Morioka, with unlimited train rides in designated areas.

The Tohoku and South Hokkaido rail pass gives you unlimited train rides across designated areas for 6 days, bringing several Shinkansen routes together under one pass. Travel on the Hokkaido Shinkansen between Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto and Shin-Aomori, continue on the Tohoku Shinkansen between Shin-Aomori and Shirakawa, or take the Akita Shinkansen between Akita and Morioka. The pass also provides coverage across Hokkaido, Shin-Aomori and Sendai, making it easier to plan rail journeys across the covered areas. Your redemption voucher is shipped to your home by EMS, so you can arrange delivery before your trip. Since the pass is bookable up to 90 days in advance, you can organise your rail travel ahead of time and redeem your ticket at a designated JR counter within 90 days of booking.
