Iriomote is a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site: about 90% of the island is subtropical jungle, home to Japan's largest mangrove forest and rare wildlife such as the Iriomote cat.
With no street lights on the island, the jungle at night is pitch black and hard to explore alone. On this guided night walk, a nature guide leads you safely along the trails with flashlights, pointing out creatures that only come out after dark — then you look up at a sky packed with stars.

Wheelchairs and strollers: You cannot join this tour with a wheelchair or stroller.

Pets: You cannot bring pets on this tour.

Alcohol consumption: You cannot participate if you have consumed spirits before the tour.

Accessibility

Mobility aids: Not wheelchair or stroller accessible; the jungle terrain is not suitable for wheels.

Public transport: There is no public transportation nearby, so plan your travel in advance.

Infants: Infants must sit on laps, and infant seats are available on the transfer.

Additional information

Health restrictions: This tour is not recommended for guests with heart conditions.

Weather dependence: This experience requires good weather. If canceled due to bad weather, you will be offered another date or a full refund.

Group size: A minimum of 2 participants is required. If not met, the tour is canceled free of charge and you will be notified the day before.

Pick-up area: Free pick-up and drop-off is available only within the Uehara area.

Out-of-area hotels: Hotels outside Uehara, such as Jungle Hotel Painumaya, Eco Village, and Latida Iriomote, are not in the pick-up area, so please reach Uehara Port by bus or taxi.
