Esta mañana me llevé a mi madre y a mi hermano pequeño a las ruinas y… ¡¿guau?! Era la primera vez que veía cosas mayas de cerca. Nuestro guía (¿Alex? ¿O Alejandro? Ups, se me ha olvidado) estaba MUY metido en la historia, pero explicaba las cosas de tal manera que mi hermano de 10 años le prestaba atención de verdad, jajaja. Hacía un poco de calor al mediodía, así que mejor llevaros un sombrero. No sabía que no se pueden llevar aperitivos dentro (tuve que comer barritas de muesli en el aparcamiento). Aun así, ¡las vistas al mar eran impresionantes!

Fuimos con mi marido y nuestros gemelos de 12 años. Nuestro guía (¡no recuerdo su nombre, lo siento!) nos contó un montón de curiosidades y consiguió mantener a los niños interesados todo el rato, lo cual es todo un logro. La playa que hay justo al lado de las ruinas es PRECIOSA, así que nos llevamos los bañadores y nos dimos un chapuzón después. Sin duda, recomiendo llevar una toalla y crema solar respetuosa con los arrecifes.

¡Esta visita fue uno de los momentos más destacados de nuestro viaje! Fuimos en pareja y nuestra guía, Lili, realmente hizo que el lugar cobrara vida. Por la forma en que contaba las historias, casi podías imaginarte la ciudad llena de gente. Me encantó que nos hablara de las antiguas rutas comerciales y de por qué la construyeron justo en el acantilado. Por cierto, llevad agua: prácticamente no hay sombra. Volvería a repetirlo.

Una mañana estupenda, aunque empezó a llover. El guía nos proporcionó chubasqueros (nos salvaron la vida). A las 11 de la mañana ya había bastante gente, pero si vas temprano te adelantas a la mayoría. Las ruinas son impresionantes, aunque algunas zonas están valladas, así que no pudimos acercarnos a todo. Aun así, me encantó pasear por allí y aprender sobre todos esos antiguos rituales. Ah, y no te olvides del repelente de insectos.

Hice la excursión yo sola mientras mi pareja se quedaba en el hotel. El guía era un tipo muy tranquilo y sabía un montón sobre el calendario maya (que, por cierto, es tremendamente complicado). Me hubiera gustado que el grupo fuera más reducido, porque a veces costaba oírlo. Aun así, mereció la pena estar allí arriba y contemplar esas aguas azuuuuules.
