Absolutely fantastic insight to the darker side of Edinburgh's fascinating history. From 15th century attempted regicides to 18th and 19th century advances in medecine using somewhat unethical methods, this tour is a wonderfully enlightening experience. As for our guide, Soldier John, he brought the whole tour alive with his ghastly, ghostly, gruesome tales told with such enthusiasm and knowledge. Bravo!!

Our guide Australian David was a very friendly guide who told us a lot about Scottish history. The castle is gorgeous and the view over Edinburgh breathtaking. For it was crowded it might have been helpful to wear headphones
