San Francisco Bay Dining Cruises by City Cruises (Hornblower)

As a first experience it was fine. It's lovely to see the bay area with its lights, and the staff is friendly. My only observations would be that if you're already paying extra for a better set-menu package instead of a buffet to make it more private, they really need to improve the service from the waitstaff. I don't know if there was a head waiter (there should be), but drinks took forever to arrive; we ordered a bottle and it took ages. The food was definitely not worth the price charged. The quality of the food was lacking, the dumplings were very greasy, and the presentation was poor. It's unbelievable how they served old cabbage—it was so obvious that I even took a photo. We've been on the Napa train, and the food quality there blows this out of the water. In terms of value for money, the food leaves a lot to be desired. The only saving grace of the experience was the DJ, who was very friendly and upbeat and completely turned the night around, along with the views as the sun went down. It's worth doing once, but I wouldn't do dinner again.

The views are incredible. The staff is attentive and professional. Definitely will book another cruise in the future. It was the perfect way to celebrate a special event.

It was a great experience for me and my family. We loved it so much that we can't wait to do another one. We all had fun, especially the birthday girl.
