Pro tips to help you make a pick

Standard entry tickets include access to the full multimedia show and upstairs exhibitions, so no separate ticket is needed for interactive galleries.

Book tickets online in advance during weekends and school holidays, as timed entry slots can sell out quickly due to limited group capacity.

Weekday morning time slots are usually quieter, allowing easier movement around the city model and better viewing without crowding.

Children under eighteen receive free entry, but still require a reserved ticket to guarantee entry during busy periods.

Review the cancellation policy before booking, as most tickets allow free cancellation up to a fixed time before the scheduled visit.

Arrive at least fifteen minutes before your time slot to allow for ticket scanning, orientation, and smooth entry into the main show area.

Bring a valid digital or printed ticket, as entry staff scan tickets at the door and re entry is not permitted once the show starts.

Did you know?

The city model contains 30,500 individually 3D printed buildings, all placed by hand across a 200 square metre floor, making it the largest multimedia city maquette ever built.

18 high powered projectors work together to layer AI enhanced historical imagery onto the model, turning streets and canals into moving scenes from different centuries.

The experience opened on October 27, 2025, exactly 750 years after Amsterdam’s founding, presented as a permanent gift from the city to its own residents.

Entry is free for all visitors under eighteen, funded by JCDecaux, ensuring children can explore future city themes like housing and climate without cost barriers.

After the main show, you can walk around the model at eye level, spotting tiny details like park paths and street grids under a slow shifting sunset sky.

The ever changing, always suberb Rijksmuseum never ceases to conjour up awe and wonder as the jewel in the crown of the world's very best museum quarter. Usually impossible to get into at short notice without needing a second mortgage, we booked 14hrs before our excellent crowd beating 9am entry slot via the always suberb Headout.com. All at ~70% of the usual fee. Would reuse in a New York heart beat, cannot recommend highly enough.

I really enjoyed the canal cruise! What I appreciated the most was that there wasn’t an overload of information, so I could simply relax and enjoy the beautiful views of the city. I also noticed right away that the windows were perfectly clean, which made a huge difference. My first canal cruise experience was during the Light Festival with another company, and unfortunately the windows were so dirty that I could barely see anything outside. This time, the view was crystal clear, and it made the whole experience so much more enjoyable. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. I would definitely recommend this cruise to others!

The captain was THE highlight! With his many additional comments and funny anecdotes in English, he was a big hit with my kids (teenagers) too. We learned a few things about Amsterdam that you definitely won’t find in any guidebook.
