Pro tips to help you make a pick

Visit early in the morning or later in the afternoon to avoid heat and crowds, as the climb and exposed summit can become demanding during midday hours.

Wear sturdy shoes with good grip, since the path to the Acropolis and the surfaces at the top are uneven, polished smooth in places, and can be slippery.

Allow at least one to two hours for the site, which gives enough time to explore the main ruins, read interpretive panels or use an audio guide, and enjoy the views without rushing.

Bring water and sun protection, especially in summer, as there is very little shade once you begin the ascent and at the summit.

If visiting with children, plan short breaks and keep them close to the edges and steep drops, as the site is open and largely unfenced in many areas.
