Adil was a knowledgeable tour guide that shared so many interesting stories and facts about NZ! In addition to the attractions signed up for, he had some great unexpected surprises. The tour itself was great attractions and fulfilled lifelong dream to see Hobbiton. We also experienced the glow worm caves which was an amazing experience!

The expérience was good. The information given by Headout was wrong ( pick up time) and though we received the right information from the local partner, we received a new message this early morning from Headout which was still wrong and confusing. But hopefully we decided to ignore this Headout message. So be consistent ( not saying start at 6 am with a pick up time at 10:30 ) , that would be less stress for your customers.

Our Driver / Guide was fantastic! He always was present and always had an open ear. And he has a huge knowledge about the country and its history! Pick-up was on time and the bus well prepared. Everything was clean, which is very important to me.

Getting started

Your adventure begins with morning pickup from your Auckland CBD hotel. Board your vehicle for a scenic 2.5-hour drive through South Auckland into the Waikato region, with a stop for photos and short breaks along the way.

What to expect

Scenic drive & photo stops: Travel through rolling farmland, rivers, and lush countryside with opportunities for memorable photos.

Waitomo Homestead stop: Arrive at Waitomo and enjoy around 30 minutes to shop at the gift shop or grab a drink/snack before your cave tour.

Guided Waitomo Glowworm Cave tour: Step inside the Waitomo Glowworm Cave for a 1-hour guided tour. Learn about the cave’s history, limestone formations, and the life cycle of the bioluminescent Arachnocampa Luminosa glowworms.

Magical boat ride: Glide silently along the underground river in a flat-bottom boat beneath thousands of glowing glowworms illuminating the grotto in blue-green light.

Return to Auckland: After your cave experience, relax on the scenic drive back to your hotel.
