Firstly, The show was spectacular and I would highly reccomend it. Great performance and excellent actors. I must also unfortunatley comment on my experience with the headout app, which was abyssmal. Nowhere in the app or booking did it state that that the provided 'tickets' with QR codes and seat numbers were not the actual tickets for the show! I was turned away at the stage door and had to rush across the theatre to the box office and back to redeem the paper tickets they actually use at the stage doors. Very stressful and dissapointing.

Bubba was an informative, funny host who performed a waiata in the cathedral part of the caves for us and provided heaps of interesting facts about glow worms. We really enjoyed our tour.

Very well organised, managed to get on earlier tour than the one we booked, small group and our guide was fantastic! Brought culture and history alive!

This experience is suitable for guests with reasonable mobility, with well-maintained paths and sturdy handrails throughout. However, it is not accessible for wheelchairs or prams/strollers.

Facilities: Parking, toilets near the visitor centre, gift shop, cafe.

The opening hours at Wai-o-Tapu are from 8:30am - 4:30pm, with the last entry at 3pm.

Children must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.

This is an active geothermal area, meaning the ground and water often reach boiling temperatures. Do not wander outside of designated areas

Wai-O-Tapu is a cashless on site, all major credit cards and EFTPOS are accepted.
