We had a wonderful time with the little ones, entry was super easy without any problems We enjoyed the many different fish and other great things to see the kids had an absolute awesome time learning and experiencing all different activities they could do, it was easy to manoeuvre through even though we had 2 prams, Can't wait to come back!

Absolutely loved going to the Aquaruim. The exhibits were truly breathtaking and incredible. The staff was so courteous and lovely. From the start to finish it was amazing. The only issue was finding everything as not proper signage and map is unclear. My daughter found the perfect soft toy at the end of day.

We had a fantastic time visiting the aquariums and seeing all the amazing sea life. We were a little disappointed that we couldn't see the penguins though we understand that they have just refreshed up the exuding habit and were letting the penguins get use to it before opening it up to the public.

To seek more knowledge on sea life creatures and show my family who were visiting from overseas the beauty Melbourne. It would also be a wonderful experience for my daughter to learn more about sealife creatures

Getting my ticket prior to the day made my entry easy and even though I arrived a little earlier than my time I was able to enter with no hassle. Loved the Sealife aquarium too!

It was ther first time I have been there and I surprised my 9 year old niece from Tassie for her birthday. It was all amazing we loved it but we missed the pinguins!

Getting started

Enter via the main entrance on King Street and scan your mobile ticket—no printouts needed. Bags may be inspected at security. Lockers are available near the entrance. The venue is fully accessible for wheelchairs and strollers.

What to expect

SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium: This multi-level aquarium on the Yarra River brings you face-to-face with creatures from Southern Ocean depths to sub-Antarctic snowfields.

Features

Glass tunnel oceanarium: Walk through a giant ocean tunnel surrounded by sharks, rays, and hundreds of reef fish.

Croc Lair encounter: Meet Coowonga, Melbourne’s only saltwater croc, up close

Penguin Playground: Watch King and Gentoo penguins slide across real snow and dive into icy water.

Wonder Wall: Use motion to stir up bubbles and meet digital clownfish and seahorses.

Rocky Shores rockpool zone: Get up close with tiny but mighty marine creatures, from clever decorator crabs to spiky sea stars, and see how they survive along the shore.

What to bring

Footwear and shirts must be worn at all times.

For the Penguin Passport experience, wear/bring socks. Failure to do so may result in the tour being cancelled.

What's not allowed

Smoking and drinking are not allowed inside the aquarium.

Due to venue restrictions, pets, except guide dogs, cannot tag along for this experience.

It is prohibited to bring any weapons, fireworks, smoke bombs, glass bottles, or other articles which may cause injury.

The climbing of or standing upon railings, barriers, or structures is strictly prohibited.

For the Penguin Passport experience, guests must not come into contact with birds 24 hours prior.

No jewellery, watches, mobile phones or cameras can be taken on the Penguin Passport experience.

Accessibility

This experience is accessible by wheelchair and pram/strollers, however the Penguin Passport experience is not wheelchair accessible.

For the Penguin Passport experience, guests with flu, cold, gastro/respiration infection within 48 hours of their experience must contact the venue and reschedule their visit.

The venue welcomes all assistance animals and guide dogs.

Additional information

Children under the age of 16 years must be accompanied by a paying adult aged 18 years and above.

The Digi Photo Pass enables you to download images taken by the photography team as you explore the attraction.

The Penguin Passport experience is for ages 12+. Guests 12–15 must be accompanied by a participating adult (18+), while those 16–17 need a guardian (18+) to sign a waiver at check-in.

The Penguin Passport is limited to 4 participants per session, guided by one expert.
