This is our first time visiting Ngilgi Cave. All staff are friendly and professional from entry to the souvenir shop through to staff briefing us on safety. The surroundings with native bush and flora provide a calm and refreshing feeling. Love the photos taken with those enchanting pillars with indigenous art. Ample parking. Love their uniforms too. Worth a visit.

Has been 25 years since we have been down the Ngigli Cave, and was well worth the visit. The fact that it is a self guided tour is excellent as you can do it at your own pace and there is a guide in the main chamber if you have any questions.

The facilities were easy to navigate. Very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful gift shop. The walk was very informative and the cave experience was breathtaking. It leaves you feeling in awe. What an amazing place.

Staff friendly and helpful , a nice relaxed tour at your own pace and a stunning natural formation to see. Even with light rainfall the main attraction was worth the visit.

Yes absolutely loved it. Adventure interesting facts. About the NGILGI caves Had few laughs with lots different people. Just make sure to wear sneakers sports or light clothing very humid in caves and have fun. First time booking with Headout for tickets so much easier to plan then to come and try get to tickets on day as the time sessions always booked. We saw many families turned away or had to come back for a free session. Headsout we will book again through you guys makes holiday planning easy.

Visiting Ngilgi Cave was honestly such a unique and calming experience. Walking through the cave, surrounded by ancient limestone formations, felt almost surreal—every section had something different to take in, from delicate stalactites to larger open chambers. The atmosphere inside is calm and slightly cool, which makes the whole experience even more refreshing. What really stood out was how immersive it felt—you’re not just looking at the cave, you’re slowly discovering it as you move through. The natural lighting and pathways are well done, so you can explore comfortably while still feeling connected to the raw beauty of the place. Booking through Headout just made everything smooth, so I could focus completely on enjoying the cave.

Your self-guided experience begins along the Ancient Lands Experience pathway, where a series of interactive installations reveal the stories of this ancient landscape.

At the midway point, descend into Ngilgi Cave, wander deep into the ornate limestone chambers, illuminated by soft, golden light.

Above ground, walk through the Ancient Lands trail for a blend of science, story, and landscape into an experience that captivates visitors of all ages.

Located near Yallingup, Ngilgi Cave is one of the region’s most significant geological sites. This experience connects you to the natural processes that have shaped the Leeuwin–Naturaliste limestone ridge over millions of years, alongside insights into the landscape and its cultural connections.

Features

Ancient Lands Experience: Wander at your own pace along an interactive trail that explores the formation of the landscape, local flora and fauna, and seasonal knowledge, including the six Noongar seasons.

Self-guided cave exploration: Descend into beautifully decorated chambers filled with stalactites, stalagmites, helictites and flowing shawls, illuminated by soft, warm lighting.

Interactive learning: Engage with a mix of digital and physical displays designed to make complex natural processes accessible and engaging for all ages.

Family-friendly elements: Discover hands-on features and a nature-based play area that encourages curiosity and exploration.

Knowledgeable staff: Team members are available throughout the experience to answer questions and share insights into the cave’sgeology, history and environment.

What to bring

Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. There are approximately 350 steps and some uneven surfaces in the cave.

The cave interior maintains a temperature of around 20°C year-round.

The Ancient Lands Experience is fully outdoors; dress for the weather.

What’s not allowed

Tripods and selfie sticks are not permitted inside the cave.

The caves are delicate and fragile so we encourage you to limit the items you bring inside, for conservation and safety reasons. Please leave backpacks in the car.

Front-worn baby carriers are great for adventures, but note that backpack baby carriers are not permitted

Pets are not permitted, except for registered service animals.

Koomal Dreaming Aboriginal cultural tours are not included and must be booked separately.

The Ancient Lands outdoor trail is fully wheelchair accessible.

The cave experience involves about 350 steps with handrails; moderate mobility is recommended, and the cave section is not wheelchair

accessible.

Accessible restrooms are available on site.
