CoupleVerified booking2 days ago5/5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Absolutely Breathtaking Experience – A Must-Do! If you're visiting New Zealand, the Fox Glacier Heli Hike is an absolute must-do! It's one of those experiences that truly puts life into perspective and makes you realise just how incredibly small and insignificant we are compared to the sheer beauty, scale and power of nature. From start to finish, the entire experience was exceptional. From booking online to check-in, the friendly staff who took us through the safety briefings and organised all the appropriate clothing and equipment, the bus ride to the helipad, the helicopter pilots and, of course, the amazing guides on the ice – every single person was fantastic! The whole operation was incredibly well organised, professional and seamless. You could genuinely feel the passion and enthusiasm of everyone involved, which made the experience even more memorable. The helicopter flight itself was wonderfully smooth, with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Landing on the glacier was simply surreal. Nothing quite prepares you for standing amongst towering walls of ice, exploring incredible ice caves and formations, and even having the opportunity to drink fresh glacial water straight from the source! Our guides on the glacier were absolutely outstanding – knowledgeable, friendly, engaging and genuinely passionate about sharing this extraordinary natural wonder. They made the experience both fascinating and enjoyable while ensuring everyone felt safe and comfortable throughout. You do need a reasonable level of fitness, as some of the steps and climbs can be quite steep, but don't let that put you off. It's certainly worth every bit of effort, and there are plenty of opportunities to stop, take in the scenery and appreciate where you are. One thing that really stood out was just how quickly the weather can change. Our original flight was cancelled due to weather conditions, but thankfully we were able to secure a place on the second flight. Once we were up on the glacier, it became very evident why weather and safety are taken so seriously. One moment we were surrounded by beautiful blue skies, and the next, low clouds were rolling across the mountains. Watching the landscape transform so dramatically in such a short time was extraordinary and gave us an even greater appreciation for the environment we were exploring. Photos simply cannot do this place justice. The sheer scale, beauty and magnificence of Fox Glacier are almost impossible to put into words. Standing there, surrounded by ancient ice and towering mountains, makes you realise just how small we really are in this incredible world. What made this adventure particularly special wasn't just the breathtaking scenery, but the people who made it all happen. Every member of the team, from our very first interaction online to our return from the glacier, contributed to an experience that exceeded our expectations. An unforgettable adventure, an exceptional team and memories that will stay with us forever. Worth every cent and something we would recommend without hesitation! Thank you to everyone involved for making this such an extraordinary experience. We will absolutely be back!EEisryal B
